What’s the big deal about tap water?
Have you ever compared a child to a hummingbird? They seem to be drawn to sugary, sweet drinks whenever they get thirsty. But the fact of the matter is, although those drinks taste delicious, they are not doing a child’s developing teeth any favors. The extra sugars linger in the mouth, which means cavities can develop faster.
The best thing for a child (and adult!) to drink is tap water. Water is hydrating, stain-free, and sugar free! It doesn’t introduce any extra bacteria to the mouth, and can even contain fluoride, which helps protect the teeth from cavities.
