Sleep Apnea and Oral Appliances

According to the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, Oral Appliances are considered 1st line treatment for patients who suffer from mild to moderate sleep apnea. Patients who have severe sleep apnea and cannot tolerate CPAP are also great candidates for the device. Oral Appliances can also be worn in conjunction with CPAP for severe sleep apnea. Oral Appliances are billed through medical insurance opposed to dental insurance becuase it is considered a medical diagnosis.  Many dental offices are normally only contracted with dental insurance and not medical insurance, therefore a patient either has to use their out of network medical benefits, or private pay for the device.  Here at CV Dental Care we provide Oral Appliances to our patients and are contracted with most medical insurances. We take care of the benefits checks, prior authorizations, and gathering all the appropriate documentation from your healthcare providers. Getting an Oral Appliance at CV Dental Care is a breeze.
